Society of Exploration Geophysicists Web site and emails:

One of the e-mail products of which we were the business owner is the SEG Extra e-mail newsletter (March 2007 – October 2008). I got our department started with a SPAM policy, set us up with an e-mail vendor, led the redesign of the newsletter, and came up with the process by which the other departments would send their notices for inclusion. I also developed the editorial process for the newsletter and taught it to my team.

The SEG Extra email newsletter:

For a specific example, see the August 2008 issue of the SEG Extra email newsletter.

I also developed the concept for the SEG news page, which aggregated news and information posted throughout the site. We had a rotating placement system whereby the newest items (and those considered most newsworthy by the membership) would start at the top in the featured spot, and move through the thumbnails until they were categorized in the text links by news type.

“State of the Net” columns written for SEG’s membership magazine, The Leading Edge: These columns had a dual purpose, which was to inform members about new features on the Web site and to show them how online productivity tools can make their work lives easier.
