About Sylvie Dale
I am a search engine optimization specialist with LexisNexis, a company that hosts and provides Web services to law firms. My job is to improve content on my assigned clients’ Web sites and post blog and article content to external sites to improve the clients’ search engine rankings for specific keyword sets.
Previously to that, I was Web Content Manager at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, with a Web site known as SEG Online. As the founder of the Web Content department, I led the content part of a migration from an shtml-based site to a new site using Documentum WebPublisher as the content management system. I organized and led a Web Content team, helped develop new privacy, SPAM and e-mail policies, presented status reports and future visions to governing committees, and led new content projects for meeting coverage and e-mail newsletters.
I have more than five years’ experience as an online editor and have developed content tailored to specific online communities for several Web sites. Additionally, I have more than eight years’ experience as an editor for newspapers and magazines.
I’m interested in online community building using Web-based tools including LinkedIn, Facebook, iGoogle, Google Reader, del.icio.us, Connotea, Second Life, Flickr, Frappr, Wikipedia, Google Maps, Yahoo! Groups, Blogger, MySpace, Zoho, StumbleUpon, Microsoft Live Meeting, Sprout Widget Builder, Google Docs, Newsvine, ClipMarks, CoveritLive.com, Squidoo and Jottit.
